“I did not choose to live, but I lived nonetheless.”
The Sonder Diaries is an on-going project that tells the real stories of many strangers based on personally conducted interviews, linked together by a common thread. The latest diary — 2027 — tells the story of four different strangers’ battle with despair, and their relationship with hope.
It is currently exclusively available to paying patrons on Medium, Substack, and as a one-time purchase of a digital copy. Like all previous diaries, it will eventually become free at the time of release of the next diary.

Written
When I was with you, the world felt light upon my shoulders
That which burdened me meant naught,
Knowing that my sunsets ended with you each day
Soon, too soon, all my might was in service to your name
So that when our final sunset closed before me
All I could do was direct it into the night.
Now I stalk the shadows of who I once was,
Tracing the light of you that once burned within me
Hoping to relive just a moment in time that we were one
My poor façade,
Breaking in moments
Few others would see.
